when ur watchin Game Grumps and realize that Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson are, essentially, Ensui and Zakuro.

Case in point--that's animation of LP dialogue but the attitudes and...yeah XD

TL;DR i really like side characters who are just absolute and complete fricking nerdmobiles. XD

DISCLAIMER: I really do not have any big emotional investment in which characters people like or don't. So please, PLEASE spare me the big defensive screeds about why you dislike a character :D;; I don't care. Since I'm not the type who evangelizes about characters, there's no need to act as if I do. I'm WELL AWARE of characters' flaws - even the flaws of characters I like (I'd better damn well be, a lot of them are antags) and I have no use for tinfoil-hat fanon ideas about the causes of certain Reload spoilers.

What Sanzo did was his choice. The kansai bishop just imitated a baby duck at him. Sanzo would have rather been alone. He only deals with Hazel because Hazel can help him locate someone he wants to punch. There is textual proof of this, not the least of which is Sanzo's 'schmeh, whatever' reaction to Hazel's flaily 'slow down' request. I'm more than happy to back up my claims with the text. And text trumps precious fanon crackpot pet theories and foolish claims.

So I don't have a ~*bias*~ against people who do or don't like Hazel. I am well aware that the kid's a punkass brat (and Minekura makes NO BONES about portraying that)! I'm simply a fact-hound. XD

I noticed the other day something kind of funny, and it was this: some of Hazel's really vocal detractors (I mean the type who believe everyone online must know and be constantly reminded that they don't like that guy) talk about him the same way that obnoxious shippers talk about female characters who break up/'get in the way of'/are part of the rival ship to their OTP.

Like, it's the exact same - rhetoric? I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for. Phrasing, at any rate.

Hazel gets talked about like he was a woman 'in the way' of a pairing.

I thought that was kind of interesting. Like, I know WHY it is - it's because he's "feminine" (oh, I could get into SUCH a tangent about how masculine/feminine are arbitrary designations XD). So he doesn't get the same 'pass' as most male characters and pairing wonks squawk about him like they do about, say, Yaone or something.

It's the first time I've seen something like that. I know it's probably happened BEFORE, but this is just the first time I've seen it in action. Usually, male characters are not referred to as skanky homewreckers. XD

(And that just goes to show how out of touch sexist fangirls are - if anyone's a skanky homewrecker in the series it's Banri. *tongue in cheek* He even breaks the door. XD)

Das meme!

Dear doofus kid:

Yeah, I know I'm a masochist for bothering to read youtube comments, but - ferchrissakes, what the hell is this 'Yisou never fought hand to hand so it makes no sense for him to be in the fightan gaem'?

Look, mini-duder, maybe you never read the manga, but even in the 'you guys had pumpkin seeds for a budget' Gensoumaden anime, there ARE bits that show Yisou as able to handle himself in a hand-to-hand fight. The manga's better at it. It's a very BRIEF moment, but watch Hakkai after the lololololololololol centipede zerg rush when Yisou's all, 'oh my the way, that asshole was my dad'. Hakkai goes RARG and tries to clobber Yisou, who pwns him aikido-ish-ly and then parks on him like a misbehaving cat writ huge. (Sanzo, you should have just got one of those little bullrush cat-teasing things. I bet it seriously would have worked.) And the way Minekura draws this is very reminiscent of the way she draws Hakkai aikido-whomping people.

So yeah, WTF with this 'cannot fight hand to hand' tomfoolery.

Also, to the person who whined that Ukoku should've been in the fightan gaem - you are dense, not only would he be too hax but at the time the game came out he was barely active as 'Ukoku'.

So yeah. Learn2observant. Yisou's a nobleman's kid (even if he really doesn't like his dad), he would have learned hand-to-hand stuff as well as the art of swordity.

I don't know where the hell he learned how to throw those damn little sticks though. XD

Read ye the manga, noisyfan, before you make dumb statements whilst claiming to be the authoritah.

-Teh Yukie

And now some stuff for the people who endure my ranties! Random SUPER META from the Bus Gamer manga (as well as evidence for my tongue in cheek theory that Yisou is a lolcat)! There is a Saiyuki fightan gaem in an arcade that Saitoh and Ichinomiya are at; Ichinomiya plays Gojyo, whom Saitoh resoundingly baps playing as Yisou ("I mean, all I had to do was lay back and chuck my projectiles and rack up combos while you tried to recover..." which would probably be possible in the Gunlock game but Kami would be FAR worse for that oh god the freaking bead danmaku make it stop). SO. Yeah. ♥ Minekura.

((LJ crosspost))

I was right about three key things about Yisou.

-The fact that the palace is gone because of him.
-The fact that he doesn't look like his father at all.
-The fact that he and his father do not get along.

I do own Saiyuubito but can't read it, largely. So yeah. Uh. Yeah.

He's also apparently an onmyouji.

...You're not allowed to talk to Seishirou EVER, Yisou.

(I need to make an icon for him.)

...As for his name - why the fuck does that sound so goddamn familiar.

My head hurts u guyse.

The kanji have interesting connnotations.
