Taking little details like that and leaving an intricate little trellis between them, to "explain" them (all the while knowing full well that the details were most likely arbitrary)? Or taking contradictory bits of canon and concocting something that accounts for both?
(I did that latter in From Page 41, where I covered both the manga version of Crawford's death (after having his eyeball torn out by Zorc - er, I mean Bakura) and the anime version of "Oh he's just not feeling well, nothing to see here, move along."
