Angry Birds is as omnipresent as the pigeons in Toronto XD
And--seriously, I don't even know WTF with this silliness, gaming is everywhere and anyway I dont see wht theis person's issue was either with bonding over game nerdness.
I--so--is it bad that people bond over sports? Or craft beer? Or fancy cheese and wine? Or foreign films? Because there seemed to be this undue emphasis in their whinging on nerdy fannish bonding-fu, and I'm like, okay so happily married trekkies are suspect now, and so is my own relationship, and--okay, you know what?
if this person is going to nyaknyaknyak about ~childlike social crutches~ I'm gonna call bullshit hardcore, because alcohol can be just as much an immature person's crutch, and so can anything else. Nerdiness is not innately worse, and I'd much rather sit all night next to someone squeeing about Megaman or WoW or Warcraft 3 or Final Fantasy than sit all night next to someone who's bombed or someone who criticizes my taste in cheese.
