dfsxgjkdsffd WoW does all of this XD; I mean...while I'm super amused that, say, the more villainous one of the leaders gets the more he acts like a colonialist British ninny...he's still typed as TEH FOREIGN INVARDODRRODOR and it makes me want to headdesk.
Funnily, sexism didn't really come into the Warcraft universe until WoW. In WC2 no one says boo about Alleria being a badass general elf, or about her being the active party in the romance (her partner is a shy paladin). In WC3, Jaina saves humankind and Sylvanas almost kills DK!Arthas and Tyrande leads her people. It's pretty much even-keel though some combat roles are gendered.
And then WoW happened and people felt the need to add in stupid things. I tends to ignore those stupid things because they vex me XD
