Garrosh's dad is a famous hero/antihero type and a large part of his character arc, when he first appears in Wow, is him coming to terms with that.

Unfortunately they dropped his potential like a hot potato and made him a stock macho-jerk repeating his dad's errors.

I found that boring so I ended up with this young guy who occasionally grapples with "so was my dad the hero or the goat or was he BOTH and if he was how does that even WORK", and who wants to live up to his family name/regain his clan's honour, and emulate dad's good points without making the same mistakes. Which is not easy. Eventually he begins to find his own identity and he--ended up like this XD

WoW orcs are basically like Klingons so there's a big societal emphasis on honour and honourable combat. Therefore attacking kids is a big no. Attacking a defenseless enemy, in oldschool traditional orc societies, gets your ass kicked to the curb until you can prove yourself again. Therefore you get 7' 1'' Garrosh trying his damnedest not to loom at the 5' 4'' teenage son of his rival. XD

Someday I need to type up all the random orc meta in my brain. ^^
