This sounds like a rant about the Human Centipede. XD
I think there have been some good horror movies in the last ten years but the very best are aware of the genre, and not just remaking something that's been done better before.
Also, yes, early exposure to certain really creepy mad scientists really sets a high bar for the character archetype.
