And--yeah, like, I have extensive and entrenched head-canons. I mean, the mildest example is Halduron at the Sunwell during the QD event--his comment about Lor'themar and Rommath being all LE SNEAKU is, to my mind's ear, teasing--he knows they can hear him, and Lor never struck me as huge on the finer points of politics--he does well enough, but sneaky he isn't. Rommath is the real subtle ninja.
So Halduron's comment, which makes -no- sense in context of the game and never goes anywhere, becomes this arched-brow overly-srs thing made on account of because Halduron's EXCITED about QD and is blowing off some steam and trying to set the likely-equally-punchy Lor and Rommath at ease by joking some.
Halduron is very much dry/deadpan humour meister in my head.
And man I could go on like this all day lol. hell, my mental versions of Garrosh and Varian have so supplanted the canon ones that they just sit around in my imagination/mind theatre being Statler and Waldorf at the game: "Hey Wrynn, they think you were stupid enough to let your kid go to a new continent alone." "They certainly think that Nazgrim fellow is a jackass, too." "The day Nazgrim is mean to some kid for real? Is the day I give up bacon." "That struck me as odd too. Good t see my first impression of him was sound. He's a hooligan much like yourself but not a perambulating twank." "...Did you just say 'twank'?" "...Ye...es." "That is the best fuckin' thing ever. ...Wow what just happened even. This is the stupidest thing that's ever happened anywhere since I tried to fake out that one dragon that time." "Why in the great sam hill did you think you could deke a dragon into a mountain anyhow, Hellscream?" "It seemed really logical and plausible at the time. And okay these Sha are freaking me right the fuck out."
