yukieThat is to say - goddamn I am amused by the fact that the current noobness of my fussy little elf punk actually makes sense WRT his backstory.
Yeah this is nerdherdery of a high order so XD
But either way! 'Upstairs' he is not a n00b, but he spent a chunk of time re-n00bed as a result of being amnesiac (something large and angry didn't appreciate him landing on it knives-first I assume, and thus flung him at a hard surface). He still is; everything prior to when the city went *splat* ranges in clarity from blurry to just plain gone. Which he still ha the muscle-memory and instinctive knowledge of how2stabby, for a while he couldn't really connect his brain to that part of knowing and he spent a very annoying awkward period as n00b v2.0.
He's remarkably non-angsty about it (or maybe not remarkably, I dunno XD every character with amnesia whom I've seen thus far ranges from disgruntled to perpetually crawling-in-my-skin about it; I don't blame the disgruntled or despondent or depressed ones but the linkin-parky-24/7 sort make me headdesk as they are usually played by a spotlight h0) - he cannot remember his parents at all, or much of his life prior to the Third War and the invasion of the city. He does remember his sister and her husband, and their daughter; he remembers all his friends, since for the most part he was with them during the whole keysmashingly lousy experience. But a lot of his life is just irretrievably gone, and while he does feel a bit bad about that (he does a lot of "It's you and I know you but I don't remember from where I am sorry--"), the emotional attachment he had to those memories is mostly gone too. He realizes the magnitude of what he's lost, and he's a little bit :/ about the permanence of that gone-ness in the case of much of it. But since the emotional attachment to the events is gone with his knowledge of them, he can't find it in himself to angst. He's lost a ton, certainly, but he still has family, friends, a job he loves - he's fortunate and he's happy, so the losses are something he can roll with.
Yes, he's a really unsquashable optimist. XD I think he's the most Zen individual in my head after Koumyou.
He's no doormat though. He did work hard to get back to where he is, and since he has only now, he will fight to protect that and if that means fighting dirty he'll ninja-shank bastards for ages. He DOES have a temper on him and one that got much more hairtrigger after the clusterfuck. For a while he had a great deal of difficulty handling it, and dealing with it and the PTSS that chews on the ankles of his memory led him to be hermity for some time. He CAN deal with it now, and channel the aggression into fighting, but for a while he was very swear-y and out of fear that he might hurt someone he cared about (however unlikely that is - he tends to do the silent rage/quiet growl stiff shoulders slatted-back ears anger), he went all lonervision.
He is also a little bit Braigtastic, though not all the time XD He is an utter lightweight booze wise but remarkably lucid when he's making with the 'what the heck did you put in that hookah you little punk'. There's a reason for that, though - as with the Braig in my head, it's an analgesic thing. He isn't sure of exactly what the frig happened to him in the fight but it's left him with lingering oddball pain. Fortunately one of his best friends is a very capable herbalist. XD
He also used to have weirdassed mana-pool issues. Like he'd be going along just fine and then suddenly he'd bottom out without warning and start staggering around all "owmyhead owmyhead owmyhead what is this dickery." During one of these times he attempted to accost and mana-tap a random passerby, failed like a rockstar, and faceplanted.
Said random guy fortunately recognized him from the catastrophe and, since his accostage failed so very very horribly, didn't bother charging him with anything ("If you'd managed you'd have been heavily fined and been assigned a great deal of community work since you seemed to forget how to use a knife and didn't threaten me with a weapon. But...as it is you leaned in a slightly menacing way and then abruptly keeled over, and I can hardly charge you for attempted anything if all you did was sort of go 'flop'...") - so now his fail-mugging is a running joke.
As for what he's doing NOW - well, he was apprenticed to one of Kael's staff pre-explody, which he doesn't remember much of - though he did retain the knowledge of epic tea-ninja-fu, so he's taken over for his late teacher (whom he does remember and whom he misses). He has a lasting rage-on for liches and KT in particular, though the root of it hes unsure of. All he knows is that every time THAT GUY is mentioned he gets a twitch. He severely dislikes the Lich King but he hasn't any particular animosity toward Arthas (and in fact he's fond of the one in Kyl's head XD) as he considers them two very different beings.
All in all he's pretty happy, and he's dang fun to play XD

-His grandmother, his older sister (Yolande), her husband (Maurias), their kid (Marisol Aerianne); his teacher (Olwen) though not much of his apprenticeship, Kael (but not having worked for him before - he didn't remember that he even HAD a job pre-war), Illidan (it's hard to forget that guy); his friends (Risane, Rauthien, Teraeis...) and the fact that he likes cats. He's also recollected all his combat training and skillz, though he was pretty nerfy for a while.
THINGS HE DOESN'T:
-Why he wants to throw things that are on fire at KT, what CAUSED his memory fail, his parents, his extended family, his term as an apprentice, what exactly threw him at the hard surface, almost everything before he smacked his head on said hard surface XD;
I need to do up a proper character sheet for him XD;
