For various things!
I ended up somehow with the Ivalese Espers as Zodiac signs, at least with regard to the Kildean characters. I learned this when Ansem announced that he was born under the stars of Zodiark, and I went 'gjabuh?'
And then I looked things up and understood.
Xenos (Xemnas) was probably born under Exodus, since his element is Aether. KH2 calls his swordy things Aetherial Blades (aerial blades in JP).
Muh. Now I can't recall the classical element associations I had with things. Aether was Void and Water was Darkness - I think it was Fire-Light, Earth-Order, Chaos-Air? I'm not sure though. Blah. I had it all written down somewhere but I can't find that notebook. CURSES!
Either way! Sora's probably under Shemhazai (Soul). Kairi's Ultima (Holy). Riku might also be Zodiark. Or he could be Belias (for his dark firaga). I DON'T KNOW WHEEEEE.
I dunno XD I thought it'd be fun? I mean, the ordinary Zodiac still exists in both Ivalese (Latin) and Kildean (Jyotish).
For my own easy reference:
Belias - Mesha Ascendant
Chaos - Vrishabha Ascendant (this is probably the reason why the element chaos is air in my reckoning)
Zalera - Mithuna Ascendant (he's associated with purple l-lol)
Zeromus - Karka Ascendant
Hashmal - Simha Ascendant
Ultima - Kanya Ascendant
Exodus - Tula Ascendant (amusingly his bio says he may be considered to have no element)
CĂșchulainn - Vrishchika Ascendant
Shemhazai - Dhanus Ascendant
Adrammelech - Makara Ascendant
Famfrit - Kumbha Ascendant
Mateus - Meena Ascendant
Zodiark - Ashlesha Ascendant

o god maor siricrack when does it end. Random pseudo historical text style inspired my the Espercrack in FF12 -
"Once the God of Death made of his mortal vessel a Lich and bound his spirit to it, thus did he disrupt the cycle of birth, death and rebirth that until then the Three were bidden to walk together. As a result, sometimes his vessel - a vessel of a much different nature than the pure incarnations of his brethren - is not stricken down by those of Tahran and Chrystalis at all. In the most significant case of this, Thanatos was able under his own name (assumed by the emperor Vandole II to be an alias) to resurrect the lost continent and wake the Mana Fortress but was defeated at the end by three young people, none of whom were incarnations. It is often assumed that they may have been, as Purim's Pandoran origin seems too coincidental to be anything but significant. Though she might well have had the protection of the Goddess of Mana, Purim was not her vessel. Nor was the young man Randi the vessel of Tahran, though he doubtless had that god's protection as well.
"We should now discuss the nature of Thanatos's incomplete or corrupted incarnations. While he does not incarnate as do his brethren, potential vessels are born nonetheless - that is, people who would have been full incarnations had Thanatos not become the Lich in his lifetime as the bard Sirian Xavier of Tasnica. This connection allows Thanatos to usurp the physical being as his own vessel, but in doing this he condemns the body to destruction. The nature of his soul is such that any vessel he inhabits will slowly change to resemble his last true physical incarnation. At such time as the metamorphosis is complete, that body begins to run down. This change is gradual, and takes quite some time to reach its full extent, though the darkening of the vessels' hair and eyes proceeds quite quickly.
Perhaps the most famous of these potential vessels was the fiancé of Purim, who defied the god and went so far as to destroy his own physical body in order to make Purim's defeat of the god easier. Even without a vessel, the god was a formidable opponent, but ultimately the trio robbed him of the mana and strength he required to manifest in this plane of reality and he was banished to Erebos once more."
Blah blah de blah I fail at that style XD

Both Vicky and Jer seem to wear gloves a lot of the time (something like FFXIII Hope's). it's the empathy thing! It's not uncommon for people to do this where they're from - fae or elven or human. Hands are the most receptive point after the third eye, so having that extra barrier between oneself and another makes it easier. I suspect before gloves were easy to make fae wore hand-eaty sleeves. XD
Either way yeah. It's not only a benefit for the empaths/telepaths, it's also a reassurance to the people around them.

Date: 2010-03-22 07:34 pm (UTC)Yeah. I figure the reason Siri's piloting sessions circa the story proper don't harm the hosts THEN is (a) it's not permanent and (b) it's permitted in the 'k lol' or 'okay fuck this YAYYYY SMASH TIME' sense. With Dyluck Siri was all *ye elbow from hell! of teh darkness!* so it's not soul-synchrony in that case, it's theft - whereas with vessels who ALLOW it you get symbiosis?
I should add that in somehow XD;

Date: 2010-03-23 04:42 am (UTC)I know at one point we discussed these, though I can't remember if we came to the same conclusion or not. We remember being fascinated that we'd independently come to the same conclusion.
Anyway, ours are ether/void, air/light, earth/order, water/dark, and fire/chaos.

Date: 2010-03-23 01:23 pm (UTC)I don't know if we ended up at the same conclusion or no XD Hey, who knows, maybe different systems of belief have different reckonings. Hallowed Bastion might see it one way and Xehan's City see it another. Both ways work! ^^ I know I was trying to keep the classical elements 'balanced' the way they are in a bunch of stuff (earth-air water-fire) and it actually ended up making sense which is a plus!
Hurr so much teal dear to say 'yeah I remember talking about that, it was cool'. XD

Date: 2010-03-23 05:59 pm (UTC)I remember some of the suit changes. Like swords=keys and cups=hearts. I don't recollect whether there was any change to wands and coins. GNAH! I need to hunt through my LJ memories when I have time.
I'd still like to draw at least the major arcana.
