Nov. 18th, 2010 09:35 amSo a couple weeks ago, I got nudged in the head at work by Ereskigal. And Haides. (Older spelling used on purpose.) Which - I shouldn't be surprised, but it was just unexpected. I suppose my office being in a basement is conducive to Chthonic deities getting in touch with me?
But either way.
I talked with both of them a bit; I've got the notecards I wrote everything down on.
I get the feeling that the way deities nudge me is not entirely like other people get nudged, which isn't SHOCKING because everyone's different, but the way people describe it is often a lot more flash-and-kazam than what happens to me.
But I digress.
Haides is - blunt. Not unkind by any means, just BLUNT. And he has a hell of a deadpan (nooaauurrgh pun) sense of humour. For example: I was sitting there yesterday being kind of miserable and wondering, 'Why am I still here, anyway? I mean, I'm kind of a dick, so like, is it chance, or what Is there something left that I have to do?'
And he says, "Yes, there is; live."
I just sat there for a couple minutes being alternately stunned and amused.
He says also that I got three recs: Ereskigal, Thanatos (the one in my head, who isn't exactly the Greek daimon/deity, but is related, so it's like, deity second cousins), and - Hermes, whom I know Kyl works with sometimes.
(Incidentally: Anything the jerk child told you about your work with Hellenic deities was bullshit. *hugs* I have confirmation. XD You have a right to work with who you work with and everything she said about Apollo was, and I quote, 'total fabrication - a bunch of nonsense cooked up by an insecure, amateurish young person who probably put Phoibos off with her attitude to begin with'.)
I wasn't expecting that XD;
But - yeah. I guess maybe I ought to have. I'm not sure why Haides, as I never worked a lot with the Hellenic pantheon - I thought I'd more likely get nudged by Ankou or Gwyn ap Nudd, but - well, things go how they go.
And YES, I am sure he is who he says he is - the way he appeared in my mind's eye matches the Greek iconography, which I was unfamiliar with. ;p I'm not your whipping girl; don't conflate your feelings and bitterness toward other jerks with yours for me. I'm no one's guru and I have no desire to be. I'm a Seeker, and sometimes I'm given messages to relay. That's it.
